『The Rainbow Bridgeレインボー・ブリッジ』
Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge. When an
animal dies who has been especially close to someone here, the pet goes
to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends
so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine,
and our friends are warm and comfortable.
天国のほんの少し手前、そこに「レインボー・ブリッジ」と呼ばれる場所があります。
この世にとっても大切な「誰か」を残して動物が旅立つと、そのペットは「レインボー・ブリッジ」に行くのです。
そこには、そんな風に集まった私達の特別な全ての友達のために、牧草地や丘が広がり、みんなで一緒に走ったり遊んだりしています。
それから、十分過ぎるほどの食べ物や水そして温かな陽だまりもあり、誰もが暖かく心地良く暮らしています。
All the animals who had been ill or old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as
we remember them in our dreams of days gone by. The animals are happy and
content, except for one small thing: They each miss someone very special
to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but
the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His
bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run
from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster
and faster.
病気であったり、歳をとったりした動物もみんな健康と若さを取り戻します;体が傷つき、不自由だった動物達も、再び元通りの元気な姿になります。
それはまさに私達が夢の中で過ぎ去った日を思い出す時の彼らの姿です。
動物達は非常に幸せで満ち足りています。小さなあることを除いては・・・。
みんなはそれぞれこの世に残してきた特別な「誰か」を恋しく思っているのです。
動物達がいつものように走り回り遊んでいると、ある日その中の一頭が不意に立ち止まり、遠くを見つめます。

You have been spotted, and when your and your special friend finally meet,
you cling to each other in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The
happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress that beloved
head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long
gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.
